Bay Area Rapid Tankas
Bulian Jauer
central centipede,
scraped, grated by hateful slate,
miserable screech—
headphone press retains the reign,
sustains the mundane chain.
scraped, grated by hateful slate,
miserable screech—
headphone press retains the reign,
sustains the mundane chain.
then: bay-birds, line-perched,
turquoise sky-melt lantern below,
black shade against blue.
yearning through the framed display,
the train, the birds, rush away.
airplane engine ends,
suitcase settles beneath seat.
treehouse rustle-rolls,
train-side brushes paint song:
flowing ocean drone of home.
